Last updated: 1 August 2026
Definitions
• Tralo or the Services: the website, the authoring application and the reading pages on tralo.fr, the help centre on help.tralo.fr and the associated services.
• User or Author: any person holding an account, in particular a teacher, trainer or team member.
• Reader: any person, in particular a pupil, who views or plays a shared story, in principle without an account.
• Organisation: an educational establishment, association, body or company that takes out a plan or on whose behalf a User uses Tralo.
• User content: texts, stories, images, settings and other items created, imported or shared by a User.
1. Purpose, scope and acceptance
These terms of use (the “Terms of Use”) govern access to and use of the Services. They apply to the main website, the help centre and public reading links. Purchases and subscriptions are further governed by the terms and conditions of sale.
Creating an account requires express acceptance of the Terms of Use and having read the privacy policy. A Reader without an account must comply with the rules concerning security, prohibited uses and intellectual property rights. If you act on behalf of an Organisation, you declare that you are authorised to bind it or, failing that, to use the Services within the scope of the authorisations granted to you.
2. Description of the Services
Tralo enables users, in particular, to create, organise, illustrate, test, share, play, export and analyse interactive educational stories. The features and limitations depend on the package chosen and are set out on the Pricing page prior to subscription.
The Help Centre provides documentation, a search function and a feedback mechanism for articles. Certain features may be added, adapted or removed in accordance with the terms of Article 15. The Marketplace catalogue, previously accessible at marketplace.tralo.fr, is no longer provided; any stories that a User had duplicated remain in their library. Assistant. Tralo incorporates an assistant based on artificial intelligence models provided by
3. Account, capacity and security
An account requires a valid email address and a means of authentication managed by Tralo’s authentication service, operated by DigitConsult. Depending on the Service, you may log in using a password or a one-time link, with two-factor authentication if you enable it. The information provided must be accurate and kept up to date. The account is personal; the account holder must not share their login details or allow a third party to use their access outside the team features provided by Tralo.
Author accounts are primarily intended for adults. A minor aged between 15 and 17 may only create and use an account with the authorisation of their legal representative, who remains responsible for contractual obligations and, where applicable, for payment. No Author account may be created by a child under the age of 15. The age limit of 15 set out in the Data Protection Act relates to consent to certain data processing activities and does not, in itself, confer the capacity to enter into a contract.
You must notify us without delay at contact@tralo.fr if you suspect that your account has been compromised, and change your password where that option is available. You are responsible for actions carried out from your account until the compromise has been reported to us, subject to the applicable mandatory rules.
3a. Newsletter and communications
By creating an account and confirming your email address, you are automatically subscribed to the Tralo newsletter (featuring new features, tips and service updates), managed via our email service provider. This subscription is not required to use Tralo’s core features.
You may unsubscribe at any time: from the unsubscribe link included in every newsletter email, or from Settings → Notifications. Emails essential to the service (security, account confirmation, billing, support) continue to be sent regardless of that choice.
4. User Content and Technical Licence
You retain the rights you hold over your User Content. You warrant that you hold all necessary rights, licences and authorisations in respect of the text, images, audio, trademarks, personal data and other elements that you upload or share.
You grant DigitConsult a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence, limited to the period necessary for the provision of the Services and essential technical operations: hosting, backing up, reproduction, format adaptation, caching, display, sharing with recipients of your choice and the creation of technical copies. This licence does not authorise us to sell your stories or to use them for our own communications without your consent.
The licence terminates when the content is deleted, subject to time-limited backups, evidence necessary for the defence of rights, and legal obligations. Deactivating a share link renders the content inaccessible via that link as soon as the operation is technically processed.
5. Content provided by Tralo and educational licence
Content provided by Tralo (demonstration stories, templates, and stories previously duplicated from the Marketplace catalogue) is covered by a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence valid for the account holder’s internal educational purposes. This licence permits the account holder to play the content, keep a copy of it in their library, modify it and share it with their learners via Tralo’s features.
It does not authorise resale, sub-licensing, making the source file or original template available in a competing catalogue, nor mass distribution outside the authorised educational context. The rights to the , its editorial elements and its visuals remain with their respective owners. The User’s rights to their original additions remain unchanged.
The conditions of access to the catalogue are governed by the General Terms and Conditions of Sale. Unlocking is linked to the account that carried it out; it may allow for further free duplications as long as the account, the content and the Service remain available. No transfer of unlocking rights between accounts is possible, unless expressly offered as a feature by Tralo.
6. Sharing links, Readers and pupil data
A sharing link may be sent only to individuals chosen by the Author or made more widely accessible under the Author’s responsibility. Anyone with the link may potentially view the story; an access code reduces this risk without constituting an absolute guarantee of confidentiality. The Author must therefore refrain from including secrets, confidential information or unnecessary personal data in a shared story.
Readers play without an account. Sessions described as “anonymous” in the interface are in fact pseudonymous: they may include a random token, choices, scores and timestamps, with no identity requested directly by default. If the Author enables the collection of a first name, surname or class, the Author or their Organisation determines the purpose and legal basis of that processing; DigitConsult then acts as a processor under the conditions of the data processing agreement.
The Author undertakes to inform Readers and, where required, their legal representatives; to collect only what is strictly necessary; to give preference to a first name or pseudonym; and never to use Tralo to collect sensitive data within the meaning of Article 9 of the GDPR, medical data, opinions, information relating to private life or any data unrelated to educational activities.
7. Teams and Organisations
The owner or administrator of a team manages seats, invitations, roles and access to shared folders. Content placed in a shared folder is accessible to authorised members of the team and is therefore no longer restricted to its creator alone. Each member remains responsible for their own actions, and the administrator ensures that access rights that are no longer required are promptly revoked.
When an account uses an address managed by an Organisation and joins a group subscription, the Organisation may manage the access rights and work spaces associated with that account. No personal content will be transferred to an Organisation without the User’s prior consent and without a contractual basis or legitimate instruction.
8. Prohibited uses
It is prohibited to use the Services to: publish content that is unlawful, hateful, defamatory, fraudulent, pornographic or manifestly unsuitable for the intended audience; infringe any intellectual property right, right to privacy or right to one’s own image; harass, discriminate against or endanger a person; impersonate another person; collect data without a legal basis; or circumvent an access restriction.
The following are also prohibited: the introduction of malicious code; unauthorised attempts to access an account, database or API; automated or mass extraction of the catalogue; reverse engineering of the code beyond the scope of legal exceptions; circumvention of quotas, payments or security controls; and any abnormal technical load likely to degrade the Services for others.
9. Reporting, moderation and appeals
Content or behaviour may be reported to contact@tralo.fr, stating the URL or identifier concerned, a sufficiently precise explanation, the contact details of the notifier and the information needed to assess the report. Manifestly unfounded or abusive reports are prohibited.
DigitConsult examines notifications with due care and may, in a proportionate manner, restrict visibility, disable a link, remove content, suspend a feature or close an account. Unless prohibited by law, in cases of emergency, fraud or risk to others, the User concerned will be informed of the reasons for the decision and may contest it by replying to the notification or by writing to the same address. The measures taken take into account the severity, frequency, context and the rights involved.
10. Ratings, reviews, reports and help centre
Ratings are quantitative assessments on a scale of 1 to 5 stars. Only an authenticated account that has previously used the item in question may rate it: the rating therefore reflects an experience verified by the Service. Only one rating, which is final in the current interface, is permitted per account and per item. No payment, gift or benefit is granted specifically in return for a rating.
A valid rating is automatically included, without prior editorial review, in the average rating and the number of ratings displayed; no individual ratings, comments or the identity of the person who submitted the rating are published. A rating may be rejected or disregarded if it originates from an ineligible account, falls outside the specified scale, is a duplicate, results from fraud or manipulation, or breaches these Terms of Use. It is retained for as long as the content remains published and its retention is useful for evaluation purposes, then deleted or dissociated from the account in accordance with the applicable retention rules.
In the catalogue, the ‘Top-rated’ sort order ranks items by descending average, then by number of duplicates where necessary; the ‘Most popular’ sort order uses the number of duplicates; the ‘Most recent’ sort order uses the date added; the ‘Mixed’ sort order applies a stable order designed to mix the cycles. Any filters selected by the User are added to these criteria. Anyone can report concerns about the authenticity of a rating or instances of manipulation free of charge via ‘Report this story’ or by emailingcontact@tralo.fr , stating the URL and the reasons for their concerns.
A review must reflect a genuine experience and be truthful. Tralo may take action against duplicates, manipulation and abuse. Reports are forwarded to support along with the contact details provided so that they can be dealt with.
The help centre may record a search that returned no results or an explicit vote on the usefulness of an article, accompanied by limited technical information, in order to improve the documentation and diagnose any issues. Details of how this information is processed and how to exercise your rights can be found in the privacy policy.
11. Availability, maintenance and third-party services
DigitConsult takes reasonable steps to ensure the availability and security of the Services, without promising uninterrupted operation. Maintenance, updates, network incidents or service provider failures may result in temporary unavailability. Where possible, planned operations with a significant impact are announced in advance.
The Services rely in particular on Hostinger, OVHcloud, Stripe and Resend. An external image inserted via a URL is loaded directly from the server chosen by the Author; the Author must verify its availability, licence and privacy policy. Third-party services remain governed by their own terms and conditions for the operations they carry out on their own behalf.
The Author is encouraged to export their stories regularly. The export functions are a portability feature and do not replace a backup policy tailored to the needs of their Organisation.
12. Suspension, termination and deletion
You may cease using the Services, cancel a subscription in accordance with the Terms and Conditions, and request the deletion of your account by emailingcontact@tralo.fr . The deletion of a story or the resetting of statistics may be permanent. Before closing your account, it is your responsibility to export any content you wish to retain.
DigitConsult may suspend an account or a feature in the event of a security risk, fraud, non-payment, breach of the law or a serious breach of these Terms and Conditions. Unless in an emergency or where required by law, the User will be informed of the reason and given a reasonable period to remedy the breach. Permanent closure shall be a last resort or in the event of a serious or repeated breach.
Upon the expiry of a paid subscription, paid features will cease on the expiry date. The retention policy, any export deadline, the fate of the content and the rights to unlock it are detailed in the Terms and Conditions and the Privacy Policy. Accounting documents, evidence and data required for legal proceedings may be archived for the applicable statutory periods.
13. Liability
The User remains responsible for their User Content, its recipients, the configuration of their data collection campaigns and the educational use of the results. DigitConsult is not the author of the content shared by Users and does not guarantee either their accuracy or their suitability for a particular audience.
No provision herein excludes liability that cannot be limited by law, in particular in cases of fraud, gross negligence, personal injury or in respect of a consumer’s mandatory rights. Between businesses, the additional limitations set out in the General Terms and Conditions may apply. The User must take reasonable steps to limit any damage, in particular by retaining their own export files where their business requires it.
14. Personal data and trackers
Data processing activities, their purposes, legal bases, recipients, retention periods, transfers and the related rights are described in the privacy policy. Local storage and trackers are detailed in the cookie policy. Acceptance of the Terms of Use never amounts to consent to an optional tracker.
15. Changes to the Services and the Terms of Use
DigitConsult may update the Services and these Terms of Use for functional, technical, economic, security or compliance reasons. Any substantial change applicable to an existing account shall be communicated on a durable medium or within the application with reasonable notice, in principle thirty days, except in cases of emergency, legal obligation or changes that are exclusively favourable.
Where the amendment substantially affects a contractual right, the User may cease using the Service or terminate the contract in accordance with the terms set out in the notification. A new express acceptance shall be obtained where required by law or by the nature of the change. The version number and its effective date are displayed at the top of the document.
16. Electronic evidence
Computer records stored under reasonable security conditions (account creation, versions of accepted documents where recorded, orders, payments, account activations, cancellations, emails and reports) may be produced as evidence. They do not constitute irrefutable evidence, and each party retains the right to challenge their accuracy by any means permitted by law.
17. Governing law and final provisions
The Terms and Conditions of Use are governed by French law. Before taking any legal action, the parties are invited to seek an amicable solution viacontact@tralo.fr . The consumer retains the benefit of the mandatory rules of their country of residence and any rules on territorial jurisdiction that are favourable to them. Between traders, any dispute shall fall within the jurisdiction of the competent courts in accordance with ordinary law, unless there is a valid, clear and mutually agreed contract between the parties.
If any clause is declared null and void or unenforceable, the remaining clauses shall remain in force. Failure to exercise a right immediately shall not constitute a waiver. The French version shall prevail; this version shall come into force on 1 August 2026.
